This is an incredible, great-buy Cabernet Sauvignon produced by Norma Hunt, owner of the Kansas City Chiefs and proprietor of Bidwell Creek Vineyard's Perfect Season. Made by winemaker Philippe Melka and farmed by Jim Barbour, Bidwell Creek Vineyard is in the renowned Knights Valley AVA and is comprised of 15.5 acres planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In total, the estate property consists of 50 acres.
Displaying classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas and flavors of cassis, dark cherry, blueberry, blackberry, baking spice and mocha, the 2018 Red & Gold Reserve is blended from the same wine lots that go into their flagship Perfect Season Cabernet Sauvignon. The tannins are well integrated, blending in naturally with the incredible acidity that keeps you coming back for more. It's a voluptuous quaffer that is perfect for every discerning wine-loving palate!
As a tribute to her home team and her late husband Lamar, Norma labeled this special bottling after the Kansas City Chief's home Arrowhead Stadium, where it is also served exclusively in the Chiefs Club. Only 200 cases were produced. DFW and Kansas City are the two regional hubs that get any drop of this wine to offer and drink outside of the stadium.
