Lerner Project "RMS" Cabernet 2017
Tasting Note
75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc exclusively from Sugarloaf Vineyard. 416 cases made.
94+ points Jeb Dunnuck
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon RMS is another tiny production release and its similar inky purple color is followed by lots of violets, plum, blueberry, dark chocolate, and spring flowers notes. It has a lovely vibrant, prettiness on the nose yet still brings ample power and depth. Full-bodied, concentrated, and layered on the palate, with plenty of spicy oak, it has a terrific mid-palate, ripe yet present tannins, and a great finish. It’s more tight and reserved than the Oakville Cabernet and is going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age.
